Litigation

HEA’s litigation group has represented clients in all aspects of intellectual property at the district court, the ITC, and the USPTO.  We work closely with our clients to know their business objective and to develop a cost-effective strategy to solve problems quickly and effectively.

The group is made up a team of experienced litigation attorneys, registered patent attorneys, former high level administrative personnel from the USPTO’s post grant practice, and former in-house attorneys.  Our group is experienced in all areas of intellectual property, including patent drafting, procurement, opinion drafting, post-grant practice, trademarks, and licensing, which allows us to effectively spot issues across the intellectual property landscape.  This blend of litigation, technical, USPTO administrative, and in-house experience leads to results that are aligned with our client’s expectations.

In addition, HEA is one of few intellectual property firms in the world with fully functioning offices in the United States and Japan.  Our Japan office is staffed with three members with Japanese language skills that can effectively assist Japanese client with document review, witness preparation, client communications, and settlement discussions.  Our United States office is conveniently located just minutes from the USPTO, ITC, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

HEA’s litigation group also assists as litigation support in local counsel or advisory roles, including cases requiring assistance with PTAB practice, ITC practice, and Japanese language capabilities.
